Ok, so on a suggestion, I decided to write on this blog once a week. I find myself too busy to sit down and write every little detail of our crazy life, which seems funny because I don't have a 9-4 kind of job. But once a week? I can manage that. Especially, since most Fridays are spent in the lower confines of my home making sure all the dirty underwear gets clean again.
First, I must share that currently Emily's favorite is Transformers. More specifically, she is in love with Bumblebee. She has a Bumblebee Transformer that she brought to her class this week to share and would not allow the other children to touch it. She exclaims often that he is her favorite Super Hero. Not a bad Super Hero if you ask me. Always good to have a gun-toteing, extra large robot in your corner. Not bad that he turns into a Camaro either.
Also, for those that have a run-in with Emily soon, she is into "debunking" things. This is a phrase she has learned while watching Ghost Hunters. Last night, she informed Daddy that the blinds were moving because the vent is "right there. See I debunked that." I've convinced myself by letting her watch Ghost Hunters (which she thoroughly loves) I'm showing her that ghosts are nothing to be afraid of. Who knows? Maybe I'm bringing up my own little Ghost Hunter. But you have to be quiet to be a Ghost Hunter. A skill Emily has not yet mastered.
In the other little people's lives, it was Report Card week. Paul is getting all A's and one B. Meg is getting A's and B's and Sarah is getting the equivalent to all A's. In most of her subjects, she is "exceptionally exceeding" the 1st grade standard. And to hold true to the ever-analytical child she is, she tells me this morning that "good-bye" looks ugly with the hyphen and she won't be spelling it that way on her spelling test. I told her she'll get it wrong if she doesn't spell it with the hyphen and she rolled her eyes and said "alright, but it still looks ugly". She is ever so much like her Daddy. Very matter-of-fact and even keeled. Except when you ask her to pick up her room. Then it's an all out girl meltdown.
About Meg...she's wrapping up her basketball season with one more game next week. I believe that her team will end the season with a winning record. Very cool to watch her play and sometimes believe there is a little angel on her shoulder (Uncle Dick) helping her along. You can tell when watching her that it's definately where she LOVES to be. And with the purchase of her own basketball net, she will be able to keep practicing and get better and better and better.
Paulie...today he's on his last Ski Club trip for the season. He has really enjoyed and I'm glad that he has found a sport he thinks he's good at. He thinks his strong suit is Math, not sports. But glad he has found something to do outside. And Lord knows, my strong suit was NEVER math.
As most of you know, I'm getting ready for a big bash next weekend to honor the hubby turning 40. Lots of plans in the works and a few surprises. I hope everything goes off without a hitch.
And here's my little "Current Events rant" for the week...
So tired of hearing how poor Denny Hecker is getting moved from facility to facility. Last time I checked this guy was a criminal and if you break the rules, you go to jail. And if you get caught with a cell phone when you're not suppose to have one, you get punished for it. I don't think Dear Old Denny has come down off his high horse yet. I think he still thinks he's above all of us and is still looking for a way to cheat the system. Could care less if this guy ever walks as a free man again. You did the crime, now shut up and do the time!!!!!! The state has bigger issues to worry about then where you are serving out your sentence. And I'm not talking stadium either, people. Don't even get me started about that!!!!!
Happy Friday everyone and enjoy the weekend!
